Of a handful of Mk. V’s made, this Soutchick bodied drop-head is surely the most beautiful and definitely the most desirable.
Shortly after our restoration was finished it was driven by its owner to Barcelona and then on to Monte Carlo.
In the early 2000’s in changed hands, and Alpine Eagle’s John Hodson accompanied it to the 2003 Pebble Beach Concours. Alpine Eagle have won at Pebble Beach in the past but sadly not this time.
BENTLEY MK. V
Bentley Mk. V
The Bentley MkV was Rolls-Royce’s second Bentley model. Intended for announcement at the Earl’s Court Motor Show set down for late October 1939 it had much in common with its predecessor. The MkV was sold only as a bare chassis to be fitted with a body from an owner’s own choice of coachbuilder. It proved to be the last Derby Bentley: after the war production moved to Crewe.
